Description

The Leica EM KMR2 is an instrument used in ultramicrotomy to create high-quality, 45 glass knives from strips of glass using a balanced-break method. These knives are essential for producing ultra-thin sections of samples for analysis with light microscopy (LM) and electron microscopy (EM). The device works by continuously breaking a long glass strip into smaller, precisely cut squares, which are then split diagonally to form the sharp, flat-sided knives needed for sectioning specimens.
