A Playful City works to make Dublin a more playful and child-friendly city by creating inclusive social spaces. As part of this initiative, the three-dimensional form of this public installation was designed by Barry Sheehan, the assistant head of design at TU Dublin School of Art and Design, and engineered by Loscher Moran Design Practice.
I was commissioned to design the graphic patterns utilised on the Zig Zag Seat. Bright patterned decals delineate the different areas of the Zig Zag Seat, resulting in a bold and visually striking public seating structure and hangout space. The Zig Zag Seat is located at Spencer Dock in the north inner city, just off the river Liffey in Dublin's Docklands area, and will be on display during September 2018.
Hubspot kindly supported this public realm project.
