Description

its 13th edition, the Festival offers a well-rounded cultural experience, inviting audiences into the world of two instruments that shared a close bond in the 19th century: the guitar and the piano. This November, the festival will feature extraordinary performances by some of the finest guitarists and pianists who have been creating dialogues between these two instruments for years, with a particular focus on the 19th-century repertoire. These artists will perform in chamber concerts using rare historical instruments.

On Saturday, November 12, the duo Pablo Marquez-Jan Schultz will present a program dedicated to the virtuosos of the 19th century, inspired by their recent album Una gioiosa fratellanza (A Joyful Brotherhood), which also gives this year’s festival its title.

Attendees will have the chance to engage in cultural events such as conferences designed to immerse them in the historical and cultural context of the 19th century.

Thanks to the collaboration with the TouchTheSound Project, visitors will also be able to closely observe and hear significant historical instruments in the exhibition "Guitars and Fortepianos in 19th-Century Salons." This showcase will guide audiences through the fascinating world of instruments used in classical and romantic salons and homes.

As always, the Festival is committed to fostering the education of young musicians by creating opportunities for sharing and collaboration. This year, in addition to masterclasses and workshops, the Festival will feature performances by the Provincial Orchestra of Monza and Brianza, who will perform during the final day, as well as students from the TU Dublin Conservatoire and the Errante Guitar Course.
