As part of its Autumn Lecture Series, the Irish Society for Archives will host a public lecture by Dr Elaine Mahon titled 'The Minister Requests the Pleasure: Establishing Irish Protocols for State Hospitality, 1922–1963 – The Story from the Archives'.

In this talk, Dr Mahon will explore the protocols and conventions that shaped state hospitality in Ireland from the foundation of the Irish Free State through to the early 1960s. Drawing purely on archival sources, the lecture will offer insights into the customs and practices that influenced Irish diplomatic dining and state hospitality during this formative period.
