Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Artists Talk on Myth and the Anthropocene. Followed by a screening of Ouroboros by Ben Readman – an audio-visual wordless narrative that engages with emotional, psychological, mythological, and philosophical discourse on topics such as climate anxiety, migration, grief, and the cycles of life within the context of the Anthropocene. It narrates the journey of a mysterious avian humanoid from its origin through an existential voyage of exploration, achievement, and enlightenment, to its demise and subsequent metamorphosis. The hero character urges us to listen to and learn from the collective acquired wisdom over millennia of existence. The film features diverse global landscapes, prehistoric animals, the cosmos, and the sublime in nature, serving as a metaphor for the interconnectedness of all life on Earth. Sound by Hélène Vogelsinger.
